Updating credit score

The cat’s out of the bag – for the first time, the UK’s most trusted credit score* is now free, for everyone**, forever.

That’s right – the Experian Credit Score, which shows you how lenders may view you, and can be a useful thing to know when you are thinking of applying for credit.

The company drew from that experience, FICO company data, and other research in creating a program that is easy to access, navigate, understand, and translate into practical action, says Jason Reiter, a Consumer Credit Solutions marketing manager and program lead for the FICOCredit Score program rollout.

We’ve just rolled it out to millions of our credit card customers and by the end of the year, 30 million eligible consumer credit customers will have access to their free FICO score,” she says.“There’s a lot of emotion packed up in a person’s credit score,” she says.“They can wear it as a badge or be incredibly embarrassed by it.†Experian acts as a credit broker and not a lender in the provision of its credit cards and personal, car finance and guarantor loans matching services, meaning it will show you products offered by lenders and other brokers.Experian acts independently and although Credit Matcher shows products for a range of lenders and other brokers it does not cover the whole of the market, meaning other products may be available to you.
